After a semi-shaky start in the airport, and a long 9 hour flight, we finally made it to London! Our hostel was about an hour and a half on the underground from the airport so we immediately got to feel like real Londoners. It was fun being immersed in London accents! Our hostel is great so far; we have clean (yet slightly uncomfortable) beds, safes, and plenty of washrooms. Brendan and I are sharing a room with 8 other people. So far we have met 4 of them and they all seem pretty decent. They all arrived today as well and have also been attempting to stay awake (although I can currently see them all sleeping). After settling in, we decided to take a look around the neighbourhood. We are about a block away from the West Ham football stadium and there are tons of neat little shops around us. In fact, right around the corner from us is a decently-sized Doctor Who memorabilia shop! We got there right as it closed, but we will be sure to check out it again before we leave. Right now we are currently trying to stay awake a tiny bit longer so that we fall asleep at a proper London time and adjust as quickly as possible.
Tomorrow we are waking up early and heading to the Westminster and St. James area to check out Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and some museums.
Say hi to Dr. WHO and the Queen for me !
